DNS-LAME-DELEGATION
A nameserver is not authoritative for the zone
What it means
A "lame" nameserver is delegated but does not host the zone (or hosts a stale copy). Queries that land on it fail or time out, so resolution becomes slow and unreliable.
How to fix it
- 1Compare the delegation (registrar) with the servers that actually hold the zone.
- 2Either load the zone onto the lame server or remove it from the delegation.
- 3Re-check the DNS facet; every server should show "authoritative: yes".
Re-check after the change
DNS changes can take up to the record's TTL to be seen; use Re-run on the result page to bypass our 10-minute cache.
