Acceptable use policy

What you may and may not do with whois.me.uk.

Updated 19 September 2026 · 1 min read

This policy forms part of the Terms of service.

You may

  • Run manual lookups on any public domain, address or host.
  • Share result links and exported data with attribution.
  • Use the API (when available) within the quota of your plan.
  • Run checks on systems you own or manage, including live SMTP and reachability tests.

You may not

  • Access the site with scripts, scrapers or bots other than through the API. Automated access to HTML pages is blocked and may lead to suspension.
  • Harvest, compile or resell registration data, contact details or nameserver lists.
  • Use results to send unsolicited mail or messages.
  • Run intrusive tests (open-relay probes, port scans, bulk address verification, load tests) against systems you are not authorised to test. Where a tool asks you to confirm ownership, you must be truthful.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, challenges or plan restrictions, or share account credentials and API keys.
  • Use the service in a way that harms our data sources, for example by repeatedly forcing fresh registry queries against the same domain.

Enforcement

We may throttle, block or suspend access that breaches this policy. Serious abuse may be reported to your network provider. Report abuse of the service itself to support@theemailshop.co.uk.
