Email address checker
Is this address real? Syntax, mail servers, disposable and role checks, plus a live mailbox probe.
What this check does
Checks the address shape, looks up the domain's mail servers, flags throwaway and role mailboxes, and for signed-in users asks the receiving server over SMTP whether the exact mailbox exists, with a catch-all test so a blanket "yes" is not mistaken for a real one. No message is ever sent and the address is not stored.
- RFC 5321/5322 syntax
- MX records, null MX and A-record fallback
- Disposable-provider and role-address detection
- Live RCPT TO probe with catch-all detection (accounts)
- Greylisting and sender-verification handled honestly as "unknown"
Questions
- Why does it say unknown?
- Some servers accept every address (catch-all) or refuse to confirm mailboxes to new senders. The page says which, rather than guessing.
- Is the address stored?
- No. Only the domain part is recorded in your lookup history.
